The Seguso family is producing Murano glass since 1397
These lamps are in original condition they still have the original lacquer and original brass ceiling plates.
They consist of a black lacquered brass house which holds a heavy handcrafted Murano glass globe.
The globes were crafted by Archimede Seguso using his ‘Bullicante’ technique.
He created air bubbles in multiple layers of glass which reminded him of boiling water (Bullicante means boiling) The multiple layers of bubbles create a beautiful effect when lit.

Born in Venice in 1912, Gino Sarfatti studied to become an aeronautical engineer until family circumstances compelled him to relocate to Milan where he had his first encounter with lighting, an engineering project to transform a glass vase into a lamp. This encounter with lighting design and engineering shaped the path of his life. In 1939 Gino Sarfatti founded his company Arteluce, which brought lighting into the 20th century combining innovative ideas with groundbreaking design.
